has always innovated the way we commute and travel. For this case study we were asked to add a feature. The feature is called Track. A way to map out your travels, whether its walking around a city for the day or traveling on a 6 month long trip. Track allows you to follow along your friends and family and join the adventure.
With an app so widely used by users all over the world, I wanted to do a diverse set of research. Not only interviews and market research but I dove into articles about travel security and tracking. After several interviews and some market research, a huge pain point was the idea of privacy with the tracking systems. Two main apps that can be used to track your location and travels are Polarsteps and Strava.
After getting a better understanding of my users I began to flesh out their use and thought process of the application feature. How it could be used in their daily lives as well as occasional trips and vacations.
In alignments with Google Maps boundaries and design system, the usage of white space was challenging at first. While building out the frames I took the stance of less design and more user focus placement.
